Karla joined the team at LAFC in the fall of 2020 after moving back to Los Alamos from the St. Louis, Missouri metro area. Karla earned a Master's Degree in Counseling from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO and is also a Certified Equine Interaction professional and a Certified Peer Professional. Karla utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Theories to help teens and adults develop skills for emotional regulation while processing trauma and interpersonal conflicts. She also enjoys facilitating groups such as SMART Recovery here at LAFC. In her spare time Karla can usually be found on a horse, under the hood of her Ford Truck, or with a PlayStation Controller in hand.

Theresa joined the staff at LAFC in order to provide medication management services to our clients in need. Her strong background in treating patients who live in underserved and sometimes rural areas here in New Mexico gives her a unique perspective of their needs and situations. While she lives in the Albuquerque area, she sees clients via telehealth in order to establish care for those who might not otherwise be able to receive it. Theresa multi faceted background gives her a valuable resource for establishing good rapport with patients while seeking the potential for medication intervention. Her conservative approach encourages patients to be active participants in their treatment. Theresa's services are available to current therapy clients at LAFC.

Jamie joined LAFC in April of 2020. She was awarded her MS in Counseling from the University of Carlos Abizu in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2015. Jamie has had amazing experiences all over the world. She spent a year living and working as a teacher in Ghana and was also a high school Spanish teacher in Indiana. She is bilingual (English/Spanish), and was born and raised in Puerto Rico. Jamie loves yarn crafts, drawing, and has taken up gardening. She is passionate about her coffee and can often be found sipping a cup while enjoying a good fantasy novel or a classic movie from the thirties or forties. She enjoys working with young adults, but also has an interest in women’s issues. As a married mother of two, Jamie has a strong desire to help families connect and grow through therapeutic intervention.

With a Bachelors of Fine Art from University of Texas and a Masters of Art Therapy from Southwestern College in Santa Fe, Ericka Becker brings her unique artistic talents to the team here at Family Council. As an Art Therapist she has worked with children, teens, and adults in both group and individual settings. In the past, she has been a caregiver to the elderly and her group work through organizations such as the Family YMCA, JJAB, and SMART Recovery for Teens have made her a valuable asset to the Los Alamos County Community. Ericka works with clients Kindergarten and up, encouraging creativity as a way to build resilience. In her spare time, Ericka is a member of the Los Alamos Mountaineers and has been a climbing instructor as well as a climbing enthusiast. She moved to New Mexico from Austin in 1995 and has found peace and a sense of belonging beneath the wide blue sky.

Gianna moved to New Mexico in January of 2023. She began her career with LAFC as an intern and came on board as a staff therapist in Fall 2023. She received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in California. A California native, Gianna's undergraduate work was focused on studio art. As a therapist, she combines her love of artistic expression and empowering therapeutic modalities to encourage clients to discover their own strengths. Gianna's strong background in group therapy, art and culture make her an asset to our organization. She looks forward to continuing her work in a place centered around the arts, culture, and the unique environment of Northern New Mexico.
